Data we process

When you send a consultation request we process the details you enter: name, email address, optional phone number, student level, instrument access, preferred language and lesson format, and anything you write about your musical background and goals. This data is used solely to answer your inquiry and to arrange lessons (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Hosting and server logs

Our hosting provider processes technical access data such as IP address, browser type, and time of access for the secure and stable operation of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Embedded media

The performance excerpt is embedded via YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). No data is sent to YouTube until you actively open the video. When you do, YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd.) may process your IP address and device data under its own privacy policy.

Studio administration (My Music Staff)

Student and inquiry records, scheduling, lesson notes, and invoicing are administered in My Music Staff, a studio management service operated by Port 443 Inc. (Canada), acting as our processor. Data may be transferred outside the EU on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and Canada's adequacy decision (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

Newsletter (EmailOctopus)

If you subscribe to studio news, your email address and subscription data are processed by EmailOctopus (Octopus Innovations Ltd., United Kingdom) as our processor, on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Subscription uses double opt-in, delivery and open statistics may be recorded, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Retention

Inquiry data is kept only as long as needed to respond and, where a lesson relationship begins, for the duration of that relationship plus statutory retention periods.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
